International Forum of Automotive Traffic Safety
- INFATS Brief Introduction
The First International Forum of Automotive Traffic Safety (INFATS) was held in 2000 in Changsha,
China, which was initiated and organized by Hunan University (

The INFATS has been rapidly growing via widespread concern and participation by the experts and researchers in the field of automotive traffic safety. The Seventeen INFATS events have been successfully held from 2000 to 2023, which becomes one of the well known international academic and engineering conferences in
China.
The INFATS was organized in every two years in the early stage. It is quickly changed to an annual international conference with the requests from majority of peers on the increasing interests in vehicle traffic safety.
Road traffic safety is a complicated systematic engineering, involving research subjects in the fields of the vehicle engineering, transportation engineering, traffic medicine, law, insurance, sociology, psychology, education, and administration of traffic safety etc. The INFATS aims at providing a platform for participants to exchange of new achievements and findings as well as to explore novel issues and technology in the forefront of research and engineering design. It will enhance the integration of various disciplines and the cooperation between researchers from institutes and industries, which will promote the progress of research and development in both academic and engineering applications to traffic safety. Over the years the INFATS attracted participants from universities, research institutes, vehicle industries, suppliers, and traffic safety management authorities. We gathered together to discuss the traffic safety advance which will contribute to minimizing casualties and preventing accidents.
